Job Title: Senior Interior Designer - Hospitality

Candidates MUST be eligible to work in the USA without the need for sponsorship (this includes H1B). No sponsorship is available (USA citizens and Green Card holders only).

Role overview:

A leading global interior design studio is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join its growing New York team, focusing on luxury hospitality and high-end mixed-use projects across the Americas, Europe and the Middle East. The role combines hands-on design leadership with day-to-day project delivery, client engagement and mentoring of intermediate and junior designers.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the interior design of hotel, resort, F&B and branded residential projects from concept through construction documentation and installation.
  • Develop and communicate strong design concepts, space plans, mood boards, sketches and presentations that reflect each project's brand, context and guest experience.
  • Oversee the preparation of drawings, details and schedules, coordinating closely with FF&E teams, technical designers, architects and external consultants to ensure design intent is realised.
  • Present design work to clients and stakeholders, manage feedback, and maintain positive, professional relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and redline drawings and specifications, ensuring quality, consistency and alignment with building codes, brand standards and project budgets.
  • Participate in site visits, mock-ups and installations; troubleshoot design issues on site and support lastminute design refinements as needed.
  • Mentor and guide intermediate and junior designers, providing clear direction, critique and support to elevate the overall quality of the studio's work.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on pitching, presentations and visuals for new business opportunities when required.

Skills and experience

  • Professional degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture. NCIDQ or licensure (or a path toward it) is preferred.
  • 7+ years of post-graduation experience, with a strong track record on international hospitality projects (hotels, resorts, F&B, branded residential or mixed-use).
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft 365; familiarity with SketchUp, Enscape or other 3D/visualisation tools is an advantage.
  • Strong conceptual design skills and a refined eye for composition, materiality, lighting and FF&E within luxury environments.
  • Proven experience coordinating with architects, consultants and contractors, and navigating complex multi-stakeholder projects in global markets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence presenting to clients and leading internal design reviews.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, balancing multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high standard of detail.

Personal attributes

  • Passionate about hospitality design, guest experience and storytelling through space.
  • Collaborative, open and positive, with a willingness to "roll up sleeves" and support the team at all stages of a project.
  • Culturally curious, with an interest in international travel, local crafts and sourcing, and emerging design trends.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to take ownership of deliverables while knowing when to seek input or escalate issues.

Location and working model

  • Studio-based role in New York City, collaborating closely with colleagues and clients across time zones. Some hybrid flexibility may be considered depending on project needs.
  • Occasional national and international travel for client meetings, site visits and project installations as required.
