Position overview

A leading, awardwinning international hospitality design studio is seeking a Senior Interior Designer & Project Manager to play a key role in launching its new London studio. The role combines handson conceptual design with full project leadership across high-end hotel and resort projects in the UK, Europe and internationally.

Contract type and eligibility

  • Consultancy contract (Ltd company or registered sole trader) with the ability to invoice monthly; this is not an employed/PAYE position.
  • London-based, with flexibility to travel for project and site meetings as required.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of luxury hotel and resort projects from concept, mood boards and space planning through to construction documentation and site coordination.
  • Manage projects day to day, including programming, fees, resourcing and coordination between interiors, architecture, FF&E suppliers and external consultants.
  • Direct and mentor midweight and junior designers, ensuring output meets the studio's design standards and hospitality brand requirements.
  • Develop and present design concepts and client presentations, acting as a key point of contact for owners, operators and project managers.
  • Oversee detailed drawing packages, specifications and schedules (including finishes, joinery, lighting and FF&E) in collaboration with the wider team.
  • Attend site meetings, carry out design reviews and support installation to ensure the built result reflects the approved design intent.

Experience and skills

  • 8-12+ years' experience in interior design, with a strong track record delivering luxury hotel and resort projects for international brands.
  • Proven experience running projects as both lead designer and project manager, including budgets, timelines and client communication.
  • Confident in all project stages: concept, schematic, detailed design, tender, construction and handover.
  • Strong proficiency in relevant design and documentation software (e.g. AutoCAD/Revit or similar, plus Adobe Creative Suite and 3D tools).
  • Excellent client-facing, presentation and communication skills, with the ability to represent a high-profile design studio in meetings and workshops.
  • Highly organised, self-directed and comfortable working within a consultancy arrangement, including managing own time and monthly invoicing.

Personal attributes

  • Passionate about experiential, guest-centric design for luxury hospitality environments.
  • Collaborative and proactive, able to help shape a new studio culture while working closely with international colleagues.
  • Calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail across multiple concurrent projects.

Application

Interested candidates should submit a CV, portfolio highlighting luxury hotel and resort work, and confirmation of consultancy status and day rate expectations
