An awardwinning global hospitality design studio is establishing and growing its new London presence, creating an opportunity for a Project Manager / Technical Design Manager to join at a formative stage. Working with renowned hotel brands on highend projects across Europe, the Middle East and beyond, this role offers the chance to shape bestinclass hotel environments while helping to build and embed the studio's delivery culture in the UK market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and adhere to the Project Plan, including design objectives, programme, and financial targets for each project.
  • Drive projects alongside the Design Lead from project kickoff through to completion, acting as the daytoday owner of delivery, coordination, and technical followthrough.
  • Support the Design Lead during the Concept and Schematic Design phases, including preparation of client presentations, coordination of information, and consolidation of feedback.
  • Lead the design development process from Design Development through to Practical Completion, ensuring the quality, accuracy, and coordination of drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
  • Review construction documents and shop drawings, assess design changes and valueengineering proposals, and ensure design integrity is maintained throughout delivery.
  • Manage the quality of project deliverables, ensuring all documentation aligns with programme, budget, brand standards, and project milestones.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal design teams (interiors, FF&E, graphics) and external consultants (architecture, MEP, structural, cost consultants, operators, contractors) to facilitate smooth collaboration across all project stakeholders.
  • Support the project team throughout the full project lifecycle, from early planning and feasibility through tender, construction, and handover.
  • Lead and minute coordination meetings, track actions, and proactively follow up to close out technical and design issues.
  • Monitor project risks and constraints, escalating issues early and proposing practical, designsensitive solutions.
  • Oversee information flow, ensuring drawing registers, RFIs, submittals, and approvals are tracked, recorded, and kept up to date.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with relevant building codes, local regulations, accessibility requirements, and brand/operator standards.
  • Contribute to internal QA/QC reviews, redlining and checking drawing sets and specifications before issue.
  • Prepare and manage project programmes in collaboration with the wider team, helping to sequence deliverables and resource needs.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, operators, and site teams, representing the studio professionally in meetings and on site.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager / Technical Design Manager (or similar role) within an interior design or architecture studio.
  • Demonstrable hotel project management experience is essential, with clear examples of completed or onsite hospitality projects (4/5star hotels, luxury resorts, or lifestyle hotels).
  • Strong understanding of the full design and construction process, from concept through to Practical Completion.
  • Confident reading and coordinating architectural, ID, and MEP drawings, with a solid grasp of technical detailing and buildability.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills, capable of managing multiple stakeholders across disciplines and geographies.
  • Highly organised, with experience managing programmes, deliverables, and documentation on complex projects.
  • Proficiency in industrystandard tools (e.g. AutoCAD/Revit, Bluebeam, MS Office; project or document management platforms a plus).
  • Ability to work in a hybrid setup from the London studio and remotely as required.
  • Consultancy / freelance setup: must be comfortable invoicing monthly for services.
