Associate / Project Architect
This role is with a US architectural practice that delivers large-scale resorts, hotels and commercial projects across multiple states for leading hospitality brands. The studio combines architecture and interior design, managing projects from concept to completion with a strong emphasis on client service and technical excellence.
Overview
The Associate / Project Architect is a senior, licensed architect responsible for leading complex projects of significant scale from early design through construction completion. The role combines client leadership, team management and hands-on design and technical oversight across multiple concurrent projects.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design, planning and construction oversight of complex building projects, particularly within hospitality and commercial sectors.
- Serve as primary client liaison, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and to a high level of client satisfaction.
- Estimate fees, determine scope, and prepare proposals and contracts for complex commissions.
- Coordinate all project efforts, administrative and technical, and prepare strategic plans for project success.
- Oversee and mentor Project Managers and staff, guiding design quality, technical solutions and documentation standards.
- Actively contribute to marketing and project acquisition, developing long-term relationships that support studio growth.
- Ensure work complies with relevant building, accessibility, health and safety codes and industry standards of care.
Skills and experience
- 10+ years of professional architectural experience with a strong track record delivering complex projects.
- Architectural licensure required.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Deep knowledge of applicable building codes, accessibility regulations and industry standards.
- Strong business acumen, including fee development, scope definition and contract preparation.
- Excellent client-facing, communication and leadership skills.
