Role Overview
A leading international design studio is seeking a Senior FF&E Designer with a passion for high-end hospitality and luxury hotel projects. The ideal candidate is an experienced European designer eager to immerse themselves in Madrid's vibrant creative scene, though outstanding applicants based elsewhere may be considered. This role is hands-on, supplier-facing, and involves leading a small team while collaborating closely with interior design and procurement professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the FF&E design process for hospitality and luxury hotel projects, from concept to installation.
- Supervise and mentor a junior team of 2-3 designers, fostering growth and collaboration.
- Develop and assemble comprehensive FF&E packages, including material references, furniture, sanitaryware, and finishes.
- Review and coordinate FF&E plans to ensure accuracy of dimensions and design intent, collaborating with interior design teams.
- Assess and approve shop drawings, demonstrating a solid understanding of furniture construction and manufacturing processes.
- Conduct supplier and factory visits to oversee quality, production, and compliance with specifications.
- Liaise directly with suppliers, building strong relationships to support project goals and timelines.
- Coordinate FF&E elements with architectural and interior design packages for seamless project delivery.
- Present design concepts and material boards to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, and best practices in luxury hospitality design.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 7 years' experience in FF&E design, with a strong portfolio of high-end hospitality or luxury hotel projects.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire junior designers.
- In-depth knowledge of furniture construction, materials, and finishes.
- Experience reviewing and coordinating technical drawings, shop drawings, and FF&E schedules.
- Strong supplier-facing and negotiation skills; able to manage procurement and supplier relationships.
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Willingness to travel for supplier and factory visits as required.
- Fluent in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.

- Candidates must be eligible to work in Spain without sponsorship.
- Preference for candidates based in or willing to relocate to Madrid; a trial period in home country may be offered for relocation.
- Exceptional designers based in other European countries may be considered for remote work.
